We believe that eating disorders are chronic stress-related conditions from past or present events, and we approach treatment in accordance with many of the protocols used for other stress-related conditions.
We assist clients who have experienced various traumatic events through the use of cognitive as well as experiential therapies. These include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral interventions, Gestalt Therapy, Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Neural-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and sexual abuse issues are addressed in a professional, respectful, and gentle manner.
Our spiritual philosophy is eclectic and does not promote any particular methodology or religion (including the 12-step philosophy). Our philosophy honors clients in exploring and pursuing their own personal spiritual practices and/or religion.
Most importantly, we believe that complete recovery from an eating disorder is possible.
Our model of treatment for eating disorders is based on an integrative medical approach to mind-body-spirit healing.
Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of practitioners from traditional psychiatry, psychotherapy, and medicine who work closely with complementary medicine practitioners.
Each client is an individual and her treatment plan will reflect her individual needs. Each client will fully participate in those modalities that she and the staff feel will be most beneficial for her.
