Challenge Course helps women discover their power and heal family relationships.

Mirasol chef Robert Kuzyk believes in maintaining an "open kitchen", encouraging clients to repair their relationships with food by becoming more involved in the process of creating it.
Robert describes his work with Mirasol clients as a 'building process.' "The first step is getting them to trust me, and then walking them through the process of preparing the food, so that they realize that what they're getting is nutritional, healthy food that also fits into their meal plans. "

Mirasol's residential eating disorder treatment program for women in Tucson, Arizona, is housed in a large six-bedroom hacienda-style estate with four bathrooms, a great room, dining room, recreation room and swimming pool. Beamed ceilings, burnt adobe fireplaces, saltillo tile floors, and a center courtyard fountain patio create a picturesque and secluded environment for healing.

In and out of treatment for 10 years, Bronwyn finally resumes the road to recovery at Mirasol. Excerpted from Battling Eating Disorders, an educational video by produced by Films for the Humanities and hosted by Jamie-Lynn Sigler. Filmed at Mirasol in January, 2006, and reproduced with permission.

This "Good Morning America" special edition on eating disorders features clients in recovery at Mirasol.
